Hyderabad: The Ist Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge sentenced a man to be imprisoned for life after he was found guilty of murdering his wife and wounding his brother-in-law.
The crime was committed six years ago. The accused, N Mallesh, a driver was in an unhappy marriage. There were differences between him, his wife, Mogulamma and his brother-in-law Muggulaiah, both residents of Vinay Nagar Colony.
On account of the frequent quarrels between the couple, Muggulaiah did not allow the deceased to go to Mallesh’s house. This resulted in a quarrel between Mallesh and the brother-sister on November 19, 2011. Mallesh was unhappy that the deceased was not coming to live with him. During altercation, Mallesh was kicked by his brother-in-law.
An enraged Mallesh then decided to murder the duo.
He got into a DCM Toyota bearing number AP-22T-6660 and ran it over his wife Mogulamma and brother-in-law Mogulaiah at Saleem Nagar under Malakpet police station limits. His wife suffered serious injuries and later succumbed at Osmania general hospital. Her brother Muggulaiaih also sustained injuries. It was on November 21 that Malakpet cops arrested the accused after which he was sent to judicial custody. Later, a charge-sheet was filed against him at the Ist Additional Metropolitan Sessions Judge at Nampally.
During the trial, brother-in-law of the accused deposed and was the sole eye-witness. Court has awarded life conviction to the accused for murdering his wife and also sentenced him to rigorous imprisonment for 5 years under section 307 IPC along with fine of 2,000.
