Andhra Police arrests fake deaf & dumb thieves


Hyderabad: Yarrampalli alias Anil aged 18, and V Babu aged 20, thieves who acted as deaf and dumb were arrested by Andhra Police here on Wednesday.

Duo couldn’t speak a word of Hindi or English and had adopted an unique medium to thug people in Delhi.

Thieves were accused of four cases of theft in South Delhi as they knock on the doors with a pamphlet in hand, which states that they were deaf and dumb and then they asked for a small piece of donations, when the people turn their backs to brought money from the inside they pick up mobile and laptops from the house.

Additional Deputy Commsiioner of Police (south) Chinmoy Biswas said that the duo forced people to come out and read the pamphlet and when the victims open their door and fall prey.

Earlier, the Gurugram Police had arrested them but the court then let them off due to the language barrier.

In the interrogation with Andhra Police, V Babu said that his elder brother Kartik brought them from their native place last month to carry on the thefts.

Police said Kartik will be arrested soon and further investigation is in process.
